Dr. H. Krishnamurthy was working as Scientific Officer ‘G’ and Head of Research Facilities at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bangalore. After superannuation, he is working as Advisor, Central Imaging & Flow Cytometry Facility, NCBS-TIFR and Adjunct Professor at St John’s Research Institute, Bangalore. His research interest is on hormonal regulation of spermatogenesis and trafficking and signaling of gonadotropin receptors. He has published more than 60 research papers in peer reviewed international journals, test book chapters and has edited a book on Applications of Flow Cytometry in Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine. Holds U.S. patent 9,304,122, Japan patent JP20140555375, S. Africa patent 2014/06473, Russia patent 201400870 (2011). for microfluidics based flow cytometer.
Dr. Krishnamurthy obtained his B.Sc (CBZ) from Vijaya College, Bangalore, M.Sc (Reproductive Biology) from Bangalore University and PhD from Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Had his postdoctoral training at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine, Muenster, Germany, Institute for Clinical Research, Montreal, Canada and University of Iowa, Iowa, USA. Later, he moved to Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, Columbia University, New York, USA as Associate Research Scientist and Managing Director of the flow cytometry facility. He has served as the Live Education Task Force member of International Society for Advancement of Cytometry. He is a board member of Global BioImaging Consortium. He has also served as the Secretary of The Cytometry Society of India. He is serving as member of Board of Studies of Madras University and Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
