Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is the first hospital in the United States devoted exclusively to the care of children. U.S. News also ranked the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, located at CHOP, as the No. 1 Department of Pediatrics in the country by U.S. News for the last 11 years.
A critical part of CHOP’s mission to be the leader in advancing healthcare for children globally is the ability to robustly integrate novel research into the high-quality clinical care it delivers. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute is one of the largest pediatric research programs in the United States with nearly $350 million in total grant funding, and over 1000 principal investigators (with active grants/protocols).
